In the first ever College Football Playoff appearance for both No. 7 seed Texas A&M<\/a> and No. 10 Miami<\/a> Saturday afternoon, the Hurricanes downed the Aggies 10-3 in College Station to advance to the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic (CFP Quarterfinals) against No. 2 seed Ohio State<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The vaunting Miami defense, led by star defensive lineman Rueben Bain<\/a>, held A&M without a touchdown in the victory. It marked the first time a team failed to score a touchdown in a College Football Playoff game since Cincinnati<\/a> (against Alabama<\/a>) did so in the 2021 Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic (CFP Semifinal).<\/p>\n

Postgame, Bain went scorched earth on Texas A&M, All-SEC offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III<\/a>, and Aggie head coach Mike Elko<\/a>. Be warned, the language is very NSFW.<\/p>\n

\u201cY\u2019all whole O-Line some b******,\u201d Bain said. \u201cF**k you Mike Elko. F**k 60 (Trey Zuhn III). F**k everybody. F**k Texas A&M.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to the game, Zuhn III disregarded the impact that Bain would have<\/a> in the game. It was certainly an interesting statement, as the First Team All-ACC selection is projected to be one of the first players off the board in the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t had the time to watch any film yet because it just got announced, but I don\u2019t think he\u2019ll be a threat we need to worry about so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zuhn was certainly not correct, as Bain recorded five tackles, four TFL, three sacks in the victory. He also blocked a field goal. He has looked like one of the best defensive players in all of college football this season, and he backed that up on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore I said kindly, I don\u2019t take kindly to disrespect,\u201d Bain said in his postgame presser<\/a>. \u201cI got my reminder on my phone, so all two weeks I was on that. I was ready to play football. Some guys in the media were saying some things they shouldn\u2019t have said, but they did, so God bless them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reminder on Bain\u2019s phone was a screenshot of Zuhn\u2019s presser, where he said that he wouldn\u2019t have been a threat.<\/p>\n
