\n\tJimmy Kimmel<\/a> is set to deliver the Alternative Christmas<\/a> Message on Britain\u2019s Channel 4 on Christmas Day this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring his address, Kimmel will reflect on the past few months<\/a>, after his late night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, was briefly taken off the air by ABC<\/a> after a comment he made in the wake of Charlie Kirk\u2019s murder during his Sept. 15 episode drew heat online, including\u00a0from FCC chair Brendan Carr<\/a>. During Kimmel\u2019s remark in question, he said, \u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile some Republicans, such as President Donald Trump,\u00a0celebrated Kimmel\u2019s suspension<\/a>, other politicians and Hollywood notables\u00a0condemned\u00a0ABC\u2019s decision<\/a>, calling it an attack on free speech.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFrom a fascism perspective, this has been a really great year,\u201d the talk show host is expected to say during the Alternative Christmas Message.<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel\u2019s address will follow the tradition of other topical presenters delivering the message, including the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad; whistle-blower Edward Snowden; and Afghan war veteran Major Andrew Stockton.<\/p>\n

\n\tChannel 4 has been airing the Alternative Christmas Message since 1993 as an alternative to the traditional Royal Christmas message. It typically provides a contrasting, often challenging, viewpoint to the monarch\u2019s annual televised address.<\/p>\n
