Olive Garden will start offering lighter portions — and cheaper meals — in the new year after feedback that customers are seeking affordability.<\/p>\n

The restaurant chain will offer a menu with smaller portions of the same dishes after testing the change this year, Fox News reports.<\/a> <\/p>\n

\u201cOlive Garden has seen a double-digit increase in affordability perceptions<\/a> from guests who order from the lighter portions menu and an increase in frequency among these guests,” said CEO Rick Cardenas on the Darden Restaurants\u2019 quarterly earnings call Thursday.<\/p>\n

The more affordable portions will not replace other options on the menu, the company said. Customers can find seven light entrees on a new section on the menu. Light portions will cost $12.99 or $13.99<\/p>\n
