Jeff Landry as the United States Special Envoy to Greenland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Trump said Landry understands how essential Greenland is to national security and will advance the country\u2019s interests for the safety, security and survival of allies and the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Landry responded to the appointment on social media, saying it is an honor to serve in the volunteer position to make Greenland a part of the U.S. He said the role does not affect his position as governor of Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Thank you <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@realDonaldTrump<\/a>!
