The Detroit Tigers and right-hander Kyle Finnegan agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $19 million \u200dguaranteed.<\/p>\n
The Tigers announced Saturday that Finnegan will receive a base salary of $8.75 million during the 2026 season and $8 million in 2027. The deal also includes a \u200cmutual option for 2028 at $10 \u200cmillion with a $2.25 million buyout.<\/p>\n
Finnegan, 34, is eligible for performance bonuses of $125,000 in each year for 40, 45, 50 and 55 \u200bgames played.<\/p>\n
Finnegan, who was born in Detroit, posted a 4-4 record \u200dwith 24 saves and \u200ba 3.47 ERA in 56 \u200brelief appearances last season split between the \u200dWashington Nationals and Tigers.<\/p>\n
Detroit acquired Finnegan from Washington on July 31 in exchange for pitching prospects Josh Randall and R.J. Sales.<\/p>\n
An All-Star in 2024, \u200dFinnegan is 26-30 with 112 saves and a 3.55 ERA in 347 career games (zero \u200dstarts) since \u200dmaking his MLB debut \u200bwith Washington in 2020. The \u200bright-hander \u2060has struck out 343 batters \u200cin 347 1\/3 innings.<\/p>\n
In six postseason games with the Tigers in 2025, Finnegan was 1-1 with a 3.68 ERA. He allowed three runs in 7 1\/3 innings.<\/p>\n
