Barry Manilow will undergo cancer surgery to remove a spot on his left lung, according to a statement released today on social media channels. <\/p>\n
According to the statement, the 82-year-old singer\/songwriter said the spot was revealed during a recent checkup. This came after he suffered from several weeks of bronchitis. <\/p>\n
Manilow said an MRI revealed \u201ca cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Good news though – he is not expected to need chemotherapy or radiation treatments. <\/p>\n
\u201cJust chicken soup and \u2018I Love Lucy\u2019 re-runs,\u201d he joked. <\/p>\n
As a result, he estimates he will need one month to recover. This will require him to reschedule a series of January arena concerts, as well as shift some dates for his 2026 concerts.<\/p>\n
He promised his return would be \u201cone big party.\u201d <\/p>\n
Ticketholders for the January concerts will be able to use them for the rescheduled dates. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very sorry that you have to change your plans. Just like you, we were all looking forward to the January shows and hate having to move everything around,\u201d the statement reads. \u201cIn the meantime, I\u2019m counting the days until I return to my home away from home at the Westgate Las Vegas for our Valentine\u2019s weekend concerts on February 12-13-14 and throughout 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n
New dates include stops in Tampa, Columbus, Charleston, Orlando and other cities. <\/p>\n
