Turner Classic Movies (TCM<\/a>) is set to honor the life and career of beloved late filmmaker Rob Reiner<\/a> with a newly-announced programming tribute next month. On January 28, 2026, the network will host a full evening of Reiner\u2019s work, including four of his most popular films<\/a>, headlined by a special premiere presentation of\u00a0\u201cThe Princess Bride,\u201d which has not been previously available on the network.<\/p>\n

Reiner and his wife, photographer and producer Michele Singer Reiner, passed away on December 14<\/a> and, in the days since, the outpouring of love for the pair<\/a> and their work has been profound.<\/p>\n

Per a press release about the event, \u201c\u2018The Princess Bride\u2019\u00a0endures as one of Reiner\u2019s most beloved achievements \u2014 celebrated for its wit, emotional sincerity, and timeless storytelling that continues to resonate with audiences across generations. A longtime friend of TCM and a passionate advocate of film<\/a> preservation, Reiner was one of the most accomplished and versatile filmmakers of his generation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Added TCM host Ben Mankiewicz in his own statement, \u201cWith\u00a0\u2018This Is Spinal Tap\u2019\u00a0Rob began an extraordinary 11-year run that rivals the finest directors in Hollywood history: He made\u00a0\u2018The Sure Thing,\u2019\u00a0\u2018Stand by Me,\u2019 \u2018The Princess Bride,\u2019 \u2018When Harry Met Sally,\u2019 \u2018Misery,\u2019 \u2018A Few Good Men,\u2019 and\u00a0\u2018The American President.\u2019 The profound sense of loss we\u2019re all feeling is heightened by Rob\u2019s lofty standing in Hollywood, he was universally loved inside the entertainment industry. I did not know him as well as I would have liked, but he always made me feel like we had been pals for decades.\u00a0Rob\u2019s character was defined by the qualities we see in those films: kindness, decency, humor, compassion, and most of all, a belief in humanity.\u201d <\/p>\n
