\u201cPeople might possibly have heard a bootleg version of \u2018Not for Sale (Polar Bear)\u2019 by Smile, it\u2019s a song that goes back a very long way, but to my knowledge no one has ever heard this version,\u201d May said, according to NME<\/a>.<\/p>\n Smile was a 1960s rock band featuring May, drummer Roger Taylor and singer-bassist Tim Staffell. May and Taylor later formed Queen with legendary lead vocalist Freddie Mercury.<\/p>\n May said Queen\u2019s \u201cNot for Sale (Polar Bear)\u201d has been dug up from the archives and will get an official release on the upcoming reissue of \u201cQueen II\u201d in 2026. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a work in progress and will appear on the forthcoming rebuild of the \u2018Queen II\u2019 album \u2013 coming next year \u2013 but I\u2019m sneaking this into my Planet Rock special because I\u2019m fascinated to know what people think about it,” May said. \u201cI hope people have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year!\u201d<\/p>\n Fans can listen to the song on YouTube<\/a> or May\u2019s Christmas special online at hellorayo.co.uk\/planet-rock<\/a>. After Mercury\u2019s death in 1991, May and Taylor continued to perform as \u201cQueen +\u201d with different singers, including Paul Rodgers<\/a> (of Free and Bad Company) and \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d star Adam Lambert.<\/p>\n Queen remains popular today with more than 61 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
