Luke Combs<\/a> kicked off a fresh chapter in his music with his highly-anticipated new anthem \u2014 and star-studded music video \u2014 on Friday (July 25).<\/p>\n

\u201cBack in the Saddle\u201d is the first single of \u201cso much more music coming up,\u201d Combs said<\/a> on Friday morning. The award-winning country star scored a \u201ctotal dream come true,\u201d filming the music video with NASCAR legends Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Richard Petty. Combs said his \u201cgrandpa would be rolling over in his grave, in a good way, if he knew that I got to hang out with Richard Petty and Dale Jr.,\u201d he said as he announced the single\u2019s debut.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Cause I\u2019m back in the saddle like some old cowboy \/ Who dug his way out of his grave \/ Pulled up his boots, put his pistol on his hip \/ Climbed up and took hold of the reins \/ Don\u2019t worry where I\u2019ve been \/ I\u2019m back in the saddle again\u201d<\/p>\n

Combs has been stirring anticipation for \u201cBack in the Saddle\u201d for months. He said in a \u201clife update\u201d on May 15 that he\u2019s \u201cgetting back in the saddle here<\/a>. Back in the studio. I\u2019m very excited about that. \u2026And got a big tour coming next year. I just kind of finalized a lot of the details on that here in the last week or so. So, new record coming up soon, new tour coming up, (I\u2019m) just excited, man. I\u2019m excited.\u201d Combs said at that time that \u201cthere also may or may not be an Easter egg regarding new music in this video that will one day make sense.\u201d Soon after that, Combs tagged his fellow songwriters Jonathan Singleton\u00a0and\u00a0The Brothers Hunt\u00a0\u2014 writers and\u00a0God\u2019s Country<\/a>\u00a0podcast hosts\u00a0Dan\u00a0and\u00a0Reid Isbell\u00a0\u2014 in a sneak peek before the song\u2019s release.<\/p>\n

\u201cBack in the Saddle\u201d is the latest song to release from Combs since Fathers & Sons, a 12-track studio record that arrived in June 2024, and serves as a tribute to the country star\u2019s life as a dad. Combs and his wife, Nicole Combs, share sons Tex Lawrence Combs, 3, and Beau Lee Combs, who turns 2 next month. Before Fathers & Sons, Combs released \u201cAin’t No Love in Oklahoma,\u201d the adrenaline-rushing lead single from the star-studded Twisters movie soundtrack.
