Louisville<\/a> coach Jeff Brohm<\/a> declined to comment on his rumored candidacy for the open job at Michigan<\/a>. After the Cardinals defeated Toledo<\/a> by a score of 27-22 in the Busch\u2019s Boca Raton Bowl of Beans on Tuesday, Brohm was asked about the reports tying him to the Wolverines job.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell I don\u2019t speak on other jobs,\u201d Brohm said, per Eric Crawford of WDRB in Louisville<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m happy with this one and happy with the victory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Multiple reports, including one from Chris Balas of The Wolverine<\/a>, have linked Brohm as being a candidate for the job, which came open after Sherrone Moore<\/a> was fired. Brohm just finished his third season at Louisville, where he also played quarterback from 1989-1993. <\/p>\n

The Cardinals played in the ACC Championship during his inaugural season in 2023 and have gone 28-12 overall in his tenure. That includes 9-4 this season after the win Tuesday. <\/p>\n

Prior to taking over at Louisville, Brohm made stops as the head coach at Western Kentucky<\/a> (2014-16) and Purdue<\/a> (2017-22). Overall, he is 94-56 in his career, including 7-2 in bowl games. <\/p>\n

According to USA Today<\/a>, Brohm made around $5.9 million this season at Louisville, ranking him 43rd among college football coaches. His current contract runs through 2030.<\/p>\n

CBS Sports reported earlier this month<\/a> that Brohm had informed Louisville officials that he was not interested in other jobs. This came after reports that he was a candidate for the Penn State<\/a> job, which was eventually filled by Matt Campbell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, that report happened prior to the Wolverines job coming open on Dec. 10. So if Michigan were to come knocking, it remains to be seen whether Jeff Brohm would listen. <\/p>\n

His history with the Cardinals as not only an alumnus, but also a Louisville native, gives strong reason for him to stay. For now, he\u2019ll just look to enjoy the victory with his team after another successful season at his alma mater.<\/p>\n

Louisville defeats Toledo to win Busch\u2019s Boca Raton Bowl of Beans<\/p>\n

The Cardinals used a strong rushing attack to outlast Toledo on Tuesday and claim their second straight bowl win under Brohm. Both Keyjaun Brown<\/a> and Isaac Brown<\/a> surpassed the 100-yard mark on the afternoon and the latter added a pair of touchdowns. <\/p>\n

Lousville led 14-3 entering the fourth quarter and quickly scored a touchdown to go up 21-3. However, the Rockerrs refused to go out quietly and reeled off 19 points in the fourth to make things interesting near the end. <\/p>\n

But Louisville got the ball back with a little more than two minutes remaining and refused to relinquish it.
