Comedian Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/a> called out rapper Nicki Minaj<\/a> on Instagram, questioning her heritage, causing critics to react online. The 63-year-old sparked widespread reaction online with her recent post aimed at the Trump<\/a> supporter.<\/p>\n

In a post on Instagram, O\u2019Donnell shared a snippet of the original diss aimed at Minaj on Threads. The post highlighted MAGA celebrating Minaj\u2019s support over the last few months. The \u2018Side to Side\u2019 rapper recently appeared alongside Erika Kirk<\/a> at Turning Point USA\u2019s AmericaFest earlier this week. Her appearance gained immense support from right-wing followers.<\/p>\n

Circling back, O\u2019Donnell\u2019s Instagram<\/a> post took a major dig at Minaj\u2019s heritage and family history, throwing shade at some of MAGA\u2019s reported criminal records and non-American roots. O\u2019Donnell first pointed out Minaj\u2019s real name: Onika Tanya Maraj. She then mentioned her original place of birth, alleging she\u2019s not a \u201creal American.\u201d O\u2019Donnell wrote, \u201cPort of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago = not American.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell didn\u2019t just bring up her heritage. She also brought up her family\u2019s past crimes<\/a>, causing quite a stir online. The comedian recalled her brother Jelani Maraj\u2019s criminal case in which he was found guilty of r\u2014\u2013 a minor.<\/p>\n

According to the BBC, Minaj\u2019s brother was convicted of predatory sexual assault and child endangerment and was found guilty<\/a> on both counts in 2017. It was in 2020 that he was sentenced to 25 years in prison for repeatedly r\u2014\u2013 his victim, who first came forward during a 2015 trial.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell also mentioned Minaj\u2019s husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a \u201cconvicted criminal<\/a>.\u201d The rapper\u2019s infamous husband was convicted of sexually assaulting a young woman back when they were 16. Petty continues to deny claims made against him by prosecutors.<\/p>\n

Minaj\u2019s husband was also under house arrest for 120 days in violation of his probation in California<\/a>. Petty and a group of friends were seen threatening another rapper, Offset, in a video that went viral in 2023.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell\u2019s online post zeroing in on Minaj\u2019s and her family\u2019s past is perhaps a prompt to urge her fandom to think about who they\u2019re supporting. Moreover, it is an alleged attempt to highlight who MAGA<\/a> was associated with. As mentioned earlier, the post featuring her Threads screenshot generated quite a response online. Many of O\u2019Donnell\u2019s followers flooded the comment section with remarks about the rapper, especially with the information shared.<\/p>\n

One user wrote, \u201cI hope everyone remembers this in a few years when she wants her old fan base to buy her albums or attend her tour.\u201d Another one recalled the outpouring of support from MAGA for Minaj and her interaction with the late Charlie Kirk\u2019s<\/a> widow. The user wrote, \u201cYes, now they love her. She\u2019s on tour with the grieving widow at the moment.\u201d A third one mentioned, \u201cWhat an absolute sellout!\u201d<\/p>\n

Minaj is yet to respond to O\u2019Donnell\u2019s Instagram post highlighting her heritage. Whether or not we might see a diss track about a possible new feud between the two remains to be seen.<\/p>\n
