Speaking on the Monday, Dec. 22, 2025 episode Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/a>, 46-year-old Hudson was asked if it was true that she turned down the role.<\/p>\n Asked if she regretted the decision, Hudson said, \u201cYou know, it\u2019s so funny. When people say these things, it doesn\u2019t feel good to talk about it, because the people who are in the movie are the right people, and your circumstances in life happen the way they happen. So, part of me is like, \u2018Life happens exactly the way it\u2019s supposed to,\u2019 and so I\u2019m grateful for it. But I do look at that [and] I\u2019m like, \u2018Aw, it would\u2019ve been fun to be her.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n In a 2021 interview with Variety, Dunst said she would be open to reprising her role as MJ, saying. “I would do it. Why not?
