Hollywood film and TV star\u00a0Pat Finn has died at the age of 60.<\/p>\n

Family sources have told TMZ<\/a> that the actor passed away Tuesday morning at his home in Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Illinois<\/a> native was surrounded by his family at the time of his death after reportedly battling cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Finn was on the sitcom The Middle from 2010 until 2018.\u00a0He played the recurring character Bill Norwood.<\/p>\n

He was also on TV’s The George Wendt Show,\u00a0Murphy Brown, Friends, Seinfeld, 3rd Rock From The Sun and Ed.<\/p>\n

In 1999 he was in the Chris O’Donnell and Renee Zellweger<\/a> movie The Bachelor<\/a>. And in 2000 he worked with Ashton Kutcher<\/a> on Dude, Where’s My Car?<\/p>\n

Finn’s best known role was in the ABC sitcom The Middle in which he played Bill Norwood<\/p>\n

Finn grew up in Wilmette, Illinois, and in 1987 he graduated from Marquette University, where he became good friends with comedian Chris Farley. They played on the school rugby team and were roommates.<\/p>\n

He became a member of The Second City\u2019s National Touring Company along with his buddy Farley, and together they performed in their shows in Chicago.<\/p>\n

The experience helped Finn to perfect his improv skills and it soon led to breakout roles in The George Wendt Show and Murphy Brown.<\/p>\n

But Finn is perhaps best known for his role in the ABC sitcom The Middle.<\/p>\n

The show starred Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn as middle-class, middle-aged and middle-income couple Frankie and Mike Heck and revolved around the daily chaos and humor of raising three kids.<\/p>\n

Finn played their friend Bill Norwood from 2011 to 2018, a friendly, neighborly guy who liked to watch the Colts with Mike.<\/p>\n

Finn also had a movie career.<\/p>\n

He had brief roles in the movies Dude, Where\u2019s My Car?, How High, I Love You, Beth Cooper, and Dealin\u2019 with Idiots. His last role was in the 2021 romantic comedy Funny Thing About Love.<\/p>\n

Though it hasn\u2019t been revealed what type of cancer Finn passed away from, he reportedly was diagnosed with bladder cancer several years ago, per TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Friends and colleagues have taken to social media to share their heartfelt tributes, including comedian pal\u00a0Jeff Dye, who wrote on X: \u2018I don\u2019t like to be the guy who posts pics with celebrities that pass.<\/p>\n

‘But this guy wasn\u2019t just a celebrity to me. He was a friend. One of the best dudes I knew with a PERFECT sense of humor. I love you Pat Finn and I\u2019ll see again in the after, we can sing together and shake our heads about all the meanness in the used to be,\u2019 Dye added.<\/p>\n

The Late Show writer Brian Stack called Finn \u2018As kind as he was brilliantly hilarious.\u2019<\/p>\n

Actor and comedian Jeff Garlin shared a touching tribute on Facebook about his \u2018dear friend Pat Finn,\u2019 remembering him as \u2018Funny, yes. Too funny.
