Nicki Minaj<\/a> is stepping back from social media following her recent guest appearance at Turning Point USA\u2019s AmericaFest.<\/p>\n

As of Wednesday (Dec. 24), the 43-year-old rap superstar had deactivated her Instagram account amid backlash after sitting down with Erika Kirk<\/a>, the wife of right-wing political commentator Charlie Kirk, for an interview in Phoenix on Dec. 21. Visitors to the account now see the message, \u201cSorry, this page isn\u2019t available.\u201d<\/p>\n

Billboard has reached out to Minaj\u2019s representatives for comment.<\/p>\n

Fans were quick to note that Minaj has occasionally deleted her Instagram account, including in October<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the interview, Minaj praised both President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, calling them \u201camazing role models\u201d before awkwardly referring to Vance as an \u201cassassin.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDear young men, you have amazing role models like our handsome, dashing president and you have amazing role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president,\u201d she said, quickly realizing the mistake. (Charlie Kirk was shot and killed<\/a> on Sept. 10 in what Utah Gov. Spencer Cox described as a \u201cpolitical assassination.\u201d)<\/p>\n

Erika immediately reassured Minaj after the slip-up. \u201cTrust me, there\u2019s nothing new under the sun that I have not heard. So you\u2019re fine,\u201d she said. \u201cI love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the interview, Amber Rose defended Minaj<\/a> against claims that her support for Trump could alienate the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe didn\u2019t say anything wrong,\u201d Rose told TMZ. \u201cShe didn\u2019t say anything about the LGBTQ+ community at all. Why do people think anyone over there is homophobic? I\u2019m not homophobic, my assistant has been with me for 11 years; he\u2019s Black and gay. I have a bunch of trans friend \u2014 so does Nicki.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vance also credited Minaj<\/a> for a point she made during the conversation with Erika, noting that uplifting one community doesn\u2019t mean putting down another.<\/p>\n

\u201cNicki Minaj said something at Amfest that was really profound. I\u2019m paraphrasing, but she said, \u2018just because I want little black girls to think they\u2019re beautiful doesn\u2019t mean I need to put down little girls with blonde hair and blue eyes,\u201d the VP wrote on X.<\/p>\n

In addition to her appearance at AmericaFest, Minaj has become more politically outspoken in recent months. She voiced opposition to the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria, which led to her speaking at a United Nations event<\/a> in November.<\/p>\n
