Chevy Chase<\/a>\u2019s SNL50<\/a> FOMO hasn\u2019t gone away yet. While Chase was in attendance at the\u00a0SNL 50: The Anniversary Special<\/a>\u00a0premiere, he didn\u2019t have a moment in the actual special, and Chase is still hurt by that. He explains in his upcoming CNN Films documentary, I\u2019m Chevy Chase and You\u2019re Not, via People<\/a> that he \u201cexpected\u201d to be on stage with the other SNL OGs like Laraine Newman and Garrett Morris. \u201cWell, it was kind of upsetting actually,\u201d he shared. \u201cThis is probably the first time I\u2019m saying it. But I expected that I would\u2019ve been on the stage too with all the other actors. When Garrett [Morris] and Laraine [Newman] went on the stage there, I was curious as to why I didn\u2019t. No one asked me to. Why was I left aside?\u201d He specifically brought up the Weekend Update segment, wondering why he wasn\u2019t invited on when he was the first anchor. He said, \u201cWhy was\u00a0Bill Murray<\/a>\u00a0there and why was I not? I don\u2019t have an answer for that.\u201d<\/p>\n Chase did mention it to Lorne Michaels, but it didn\u2019t go very far, mainly on Chase\u2019s part. \u201cI did bring it up once in a text to Lorne and then took it back,\u201d Chase further explained. \u201cI said, \u2018Okay, I take it back, silly.\u2019 But it\u2019s not that silly. Somebody\u2019s made a bad mistake there. I don\u2019t know who it was, but somebody made a mistake. They should\u2019ve had me on that stage. It hurt.\u201d Chase\u2019s wife, Jayni, says there were two bits with the comedian that the SNL50 team was going \u201cback and forth\u201d on, including, but when the show came on, both those bits weren\u2019t in the final cut.<\/p>\n As for what Michaels has to say, the SNL creator claims there were a few different versions of the Weekend Update segment, but he did receive a warning.
