{"id":368763,"date":"2025-12-25T04:31:20","date_gmt":"2025-12-25T04:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/368763\/"},"modified":"2025-12-25T04:31:20","modified_gmt":"2025-12-25T04:31:20","slug":"thurston-county-health-care-worker-accused-of-stealing-financial-info-from-retirement-home-residents-in-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/368763\/","title":{"rendered":"Thurston County health care worker accused of stealing financial info from retirement home residents in 2024\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By The Chronicle staff\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Washington state Department of Health has accused a home care aide and registered nursing assistant of stealing checks and other financial information from two patients at a retirement care facility in Thursdon County last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Liana Marie Mozee allegedly stole two binders containing cashed checks, deposit receipts and other financial information from a retirement community on or about July 8, 2024, according to a statement of charges filed by the DOH on Dec. 1 accusing Mozee of unprofessional conduct.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mozee allegedly removed two checks that were made out to the facility, replaced the facility\u2019s name with her own on one of the checks and deposited it into her own bank account.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mozee has an opportunity to defend against the allegations before the DOH takes disciplinary action.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The case documents can be accessed via the state Department of Health\u2019s online provider credential search at <a href=\"https:\/\/fortress.wa.gov\/doh\/providercredentialsearch\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/fortress.wa.gov\/doh\/providercredentialsearch\/<\/a>.
