{"id":369204,"date":"2025-12-25T11:14:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-25T11:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/369204\/"},"modified":"2025-12-25T11:14:15","modified_gmt":"2025-12-25T11:14:15","slug":"avatar-3-propels-disney-global-box-office-revenue-to-6-billion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/369204\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Avatar 3&#8217; Propels Disney Global Box Office Revenue to $6 Billion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhile overall <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/box-office\/\" id=\"auto-tag_box-office_1\" data-tag=\"box-office\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">box office<\/a> revenue won\u2019t make any gains in 2025, the same can\u2019t be said of Disney.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe studios sprawling film empire on Wednesday will cross the $6 billion mark in global box office revenue for the year, having earned\u00a0$5.967\u00a0billion\u00a0globally through Tuesday, including $2.310\u00a0billion\u00a0domestically and\u00a0$3.656 billion internationally. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThis marks the first time Disney has hit $6 billion since 2019, just before the pandemic struck and decimated moviegoing. Even before COVID, clearing $6 billion was no easy feat. No other studio has done so since 2015, while Disney is a now a five-time multiple offender (2016-2019, 2025).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tDisney\u2019s success this year has been fueled by 16 wide releases, led by the only two titles that have crossed $1 billion at the worldwide box office: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/zootopia-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_zootopia-2_1\" data-tag=\"zootopia-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zootopia 2<\/a>, which has earned $1.311 billion to date, and Lilo &amp; Stitch, which topped out at $1.038 billion earlier this year. Thanks to some nifty math, Disney is also reporting that three Marvel Studios\u2019 titles have collectively grossed more than $1.3 billion worldwide, even if not one title did so on its own; The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Thunderbolts* and Captain America: Brave New World.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOther titles helping to propel Disney past $6 billion were Predator: Badlands, Freakier Friday and Elio, albeit at much smaller numbers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/james-cameron\/\" id=\"auto-tag_james-cameron_1\" data-tag=\"james-cameron\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">James Cameron<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/avatar\/\" id=\"auto-tag_avatar_1\" data-tag=\"avatar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Avatar<\/a>: Fire and Ash is the icing on the cake, grossing $450.1 million at the global box office after only seven days in release, including worldwide earnings of $51 million on Tuesday. In North America, it topped Tuesday\u2019s chart with $16.5 million for a domestic tally of $119 million. Overseas, it finished the day with a foreign tally of $331.1 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAvatar 3 is easily expected to dominate the long Christmas weekend (Thursday-Sunday) with a four-day gross of $70 million to $75 million, if not more. Sony\u2019s comedic adventure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/anaconda\/\" id=\"auto-tag_anaconda_1\" data-tag=\"anaconda\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anaconda<\/a>, teaming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jack-black\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jack-black_1\" data-tag=\"jack-black\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Black<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/paul-rudd\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paul-rudd_1\" data-tag=\"paul-rudd\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paul Rudd<\/a>, opens nationwide on Dec. 25 alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/timoth-e-chalamet\/\" id=\"auto-tag_timoth-e-chalamet_1\" data-tag=\"timoth-e-chalamet\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/marty-supreme\/\" id=\"auto-tag_marty-supreme_1\" data-tag=\"marty-supreme\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marty Supreme<\/a> and Focus Features\u2019 music-infused Song Sing Blue, starring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/hugh-jackman\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hugh-jackman_1\" data-tag=\"hugh-jackman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hugh Jackman<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/kate-hudson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kate-hudson_1\" data-tag=\"kate-hudson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kate Hudson<\/a>. They join a crop of films opening last weekend that wanted to a jump on the holiday.
