Nearly everyone had something to say after Brooks Koepka\u2019s shocking departure<\/a> from LIV Golf on Tuesday \u2014 including the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

In the wake of the five-time major champion\u2019s decision to walk away from the Saudi-backed circuit, the PGA Tour released a curious statement as fans speculate Koepka\u2019s next move.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrooks Koepka is a highly accomplished professional, and we wish him and his family continued success. The PGA Tour continues to offer the best professional golfers the most competitive, challenging and lucrative environment in which to pursue greatness,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

The remarks baffled some fans, who pondered whether the PGA Tour would welcome Koepka, 35, back, given it suspended all players who defected to LIV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis says nothing! Are the allowing him back on PGA Tour ?\u201d one X user posted.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat does this even mean? Bring him back!\u201d another wrote.<\/p>\n

The Associated Press reported Tuesday that Koepka \u201chad alerted the PGA Tour of his plans before the LIV announcement.\u201d<\/p>\n

The report also noted<\/a>: \u201cThe PGA Tour policy banning players who have joined the rival league requires them to sit out for one year from their last participation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Koepka was one of the biggest names to join LIV in 2022, with golfers such as Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson earning reported nine-figure paydays.<\/p>\n

He served as captain of the Smash GC team and won five LIV Golf titles.<\/p>\n

Koepka also became the first member of the circuit to win a major after his PGA Championship triumph in 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrooks Koepka will be stepping away from LIV Golf,\u201d his reps said in a statement. \u201cHe is deeply grateful to Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Scott O\u2019Neil, and the LIV Golf leadership team, his teammates, and the fans. Family has always guided Brooks\u2019 decisions, and he feels this is the right moment to spend more time at home.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrooks will continue to be a huge supporter of LIV Golf and wishes the league and its players continued success. Brooks remains passionate about the game of golf and will keep fans updated on what\u2019s ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Koepka was often joined at tournaments by his wife, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Jena Sims, and their 2-year-old son Crew.<\/p>\n
