Viktor Hovland\u2019s gym routine is evidently working.<\/p>\n

When the golf clubs are packed away, the Norwegian star now turns his attention to the dumbbells.<\/p>\n

The PGA Tour<\/a> winner gave fans a sneak peak of his body transformation and it\u2019s fair to say the results so far are impressive.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old is no longer donning the slender frame he had when he broke into the professional ranks in 2019.<\/p>\n

Hovland is now a man-mountain as aptly displayed in his latest social media post.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by a friend, Hovland posted pictures of himself shirtless while climbing mountains in his homeland.<\/p>\n

Wearing just a pair of trousers, Hovland did his best front double biceps stage pose with snow covered mountains in the backdrop.<\/p>\n

He showed off a chiseled frame with his abs on show alongside a pair of arms the late Hulk Hogan<\/a> would be proud of.<\/p>\n

And he topped it off with his best posing face in a lighthearted Instagram post.<\/p>\n

For Hovland, the post symbolises all that is good in his life away from golf \u2013 and that includes his love of Norwegian food.<\/p>\n

The golfer once famously left fans repulsed<\/a> after sharing an image of his dinner and in particular his serving of \u2018Smalahove\u2019.<\/p>\n

The dish translates to \u2018sheep head\u2019 and while it might explain how his physique has transformed into a Viking-like one, it is not for the faint-hearted.<\/p>\n

It is unclear as to whether this is a regular fixture in his muscle-building diet but it\u2019s clearly a meal Hovland can\u2019t get enough of.<\/p>\n

Is Hovland in contention for the Ryder Cup?<\/p>\n

The Norwegian will be hoping his transformation will help him secure a place in Europe\u2019s Ryder Cup<\/a> team for September\u2019s showpiece in New York.<\/p>\n

The fan favourite was part of Europe\u2019s successful Ryder Cup win in 2023 when he went 3\u20131\u20131 including a singles match win against Collin Morikawa.<\/p>\n

He later teamed up with Ludvig Aberg in defeating world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler<\/a> and Brooks Koepka<\/a> to set a new record for the largest winning margin in an 18-hole Ryder Cup match.<\/p>\n

There is little doubt that on his day, Hovland is among the best players in the world despite never having ever won a major.<\/p>\n

Hovland has had some unforgettable moments in previous majors before, including a tie for 12th at the U.S. Open, where he broke Jack Nicklaus’ record for the lowest score by an amateur at the event.<\/p>\n

The elusive win could be soon on its way and few would begrudge him his flowers when it does happen.<\/p>\n

Hovland enjoys a good relationship with fans due to his openness and honesty and endeared himself further when discussing his swing issues earlier this year.<\/p>\n

He was seen tinkering with his swing at the range, deploying his old trademark ‘double-pump’ with the driver and practising a slower takeaway.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I mean, to be honest with you, I\u2019d like to be a little bit more hopeful,\u201d Hovland told the DP World Tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s been very challenging. Even with the off-season that I had, I was hoping to make a little bit more progress, feel a little bit better about my game. But it\u2019s been\u2026 it\u2019s been challenging.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a hard game, but I do feel like I\u2019m headed in the right direction.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I\u2019m certified nuts. There\u2019s gotta be some tinkering going on, but that\u2019s this game.<\/p>\n
