How Yankees get more switchable lineup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Perhaps it will be much ado about nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Or maybe it will be somewhere in between Trent Grisham taking ground balls at first base semi-regularly over the past two seasons and Oswaldo Cabrera actually playing first base on occasion after making himself an option there.<\/p>\n<p>But when the Yankees <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/12\/13\/sports\/yankees-re-signing-amed-rosario-on-2-5-million-contract\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">re-signed Amed Rosario earlier this month<\/a>, Aaron Boone asked the right-handed-hitting utilityman if he had his first-base glove ready. Rosario has played a total of 7,718 innings in the field throughout his big league career across seven different positions \u2014 every one except catcher and first base.<\/p>\n<p>The Yankees are planning on at least seeing if Rosario can be an option at first base this season, though. He occasionally could be <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/14\/sports\/yankees-future-hints-from-gm-meetings-spencer-jones-ben-rice\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a complement to the left-handed-hitting Ben Rice<\/a> and perhaps mean they will not have to devote more dollars to a righty-hitting first baseman.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Perhaps it will be much ado about nothing.
