Prime Video<\/a> released a teaser for the upcoming John Madden biopic, starring Nicolas Cage in the leading role. Directed and co-written by David O. Russell, Madden will come out on Thanksgiving in 2026.<\/p>\n The film\u2019s star-studded cast includes Nicolas Cage, Christian Bale, Sienna Miller, Matt Medrano, Buck Watkins, Kathryn Hahn, and John Mulaney, among others. Will Ferrell was reportedly considered for the lead as John Madden at first. However, Amazon later announced that Nicolas Cage will play the role of Madden.<\/p>\n John Madden served as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders from 1969 to 1978. During his tenure, the Raiders became one of the most successful teams in the league. Madden led the Raiders to win seven division titles, with seven AFL\/AFC Championship Game appearances and eight playoffs. The Raiders also won their first ever Super Bowl under his leadership at the Super Bowl XI. He also won 16 Sports Emmy Awards during his time as a commentator for NFL broadcasts.<\/p>\n Madden also contributed towards the development of the Madden NFL video game series from EA Sports. The Oakland Raiders are now known as the Las Vegas Raiders, after relocating to Nevada<\/a> in 2020.
