OUTH JORDAN \u2014 On Saturday night at approximately 5:45 pm a crash in South Jordan area lead multiple people to be transported to the hospital.<\/p>\n

Around 2700 W 11400 S a SUV traveling north collided with another vehicle at the intersection. The SUV then continued and hit two utility poles and an electric box, causing a power outage down to 2700 W.<\/p>\n

The front passenger of the SUV was ejected from the vehicle. The passenger and driver were transported to the hospital with severe injuries. A 5-month-old child in the back seat was also transported to primary children\u2019s with minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The driver of the other vehicle also had minor injures.<\/p>\n

Master Officer Shaun Becker said officials are still investigating the exact cause of the crash. Currently the driver of the SUV is being investigated for a DUI. Police believe the driver, adult male, was speeding when he ran a red light at the time of the accident.\u00a0<\/p>\n

South Jordan Fire & Rocky Mountain Power also responding to the scene and say it will take some time to repair.<\/p>\n

Master Officer Shaun Becker says people will need to avoid the area.<\/p>\n
