Although his replacement still has yet to be officially announced, fans are now speculating that Jane\u2019s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins may be joining the band.<\/p>\n<p>The rumors were ignited after Perkins shared a post on Instagram celebrating frontman Eddie Vedder\u2019s birthday on Dec. 23.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHappy birthday, Eddie,\u201d Perkins wrote, captioning a photo of himself with Eddie Vedder.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t long before fans in the comment section began to speculate about Perkins taking over for Cameron as Pearl Jam\u2019s new drummer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOmg are you gonna replace Matt?? As much as that can be possible,\u201d one Pearl Jam fan asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecond Pearl Jam-related post in less than a couple weeks, huh\u2026.I want to believe,\u201d another person commented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStephen Perkins needs to be the next Pearl Jam drummer. Please!\u201d a third fan said.<\/p>\n<p>This comes shortly after Perkins\u2019 band Jane\u2019s Addiction officially announced their disbandment over a year after frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro got into an onstage altercation during a September 2024 show in Boston.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement shared to Instagram on Dec. 17, Farrell apologized to \u201cour patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show.\u201d In a separate statement, the band explained that while they \u201chave come together one last time to resolve our differences,\u201d they have chosen not to continue on. \u201cWe now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors.
