On Monday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, hosts Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh were detailing the latest headlines to ITV viewers.<\/p>\n

During the latest episode of Good Morning Britain,<\/a> ITV <\/a>viewers saw Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh share the latest headlines with people.<\/p>\n

Ranvir is currently hosting the programme following Susanna Reid announcing a short break earlier this month.<\/a><\/p>\n

After they had finished a segment, they handed over to Marvarine Cole who had some breaking news to share.<\/p>\n

She commented: “Good morning, we start with some breaking news. Norfolk police say they’ve referred themselves to the independent office for police conduct after they shot and killed a man in Thetford after reports of a two-vehicle collision.<\/p>\n

“One man, believed to be the driver of one of the vehicles, left the scene holding what was described as a handgun.<\/p>\n

“They said armed response officers attended, and the suspect was then shot by officers from a short distance away.”<\/p>\n

According to the Norfolk Constabulary page, this incident happened on Sunday (28 December) when officers were called to London Road at around 8.25pm.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Assistant Chief Constable David Buckley said: “We understand this incident will cause concern in the community.<\/p>\n

“Our highly trained armed officers deploy to hundreds of firearms-related calls each year, but incidents where police discharge firearms are thankfully incredibly rare. A full and independent investigation is already underway.<\/p>\n

“We are of course cooperating fully with the IOPC investigation and will be handing over all bodyworn footage and 999 calls to ensure transparency.<\/p>\n

“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”<\/p>\n

This breaking news comes after ITV viewers saw the show halted last week as Charlotte Hawkins shared that one of their co-stars was leaving the programme.<\/p>\n

During Wednesday’s show (December 24), Charlotte commented: “I’ve just got to take this moment to say goodbye and thank you to Richard Gaisford, who has been with us here on ITV<\/a> breakfast for 26 years now. He is a much loved member of our team.<\/p>\n

“He has travelled right around the world for Good Morning Britain. He’s been in war zones, he’s covered in all sorts of different stories for us over the years.<\/p>\n

“He is an exceptional journalist. He is the best and we wish him all the best, Richard, thank you so much. You will be very much missed.”<\/p>\n
