Hosts Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh were detailing the latest headlines to ITV viewers on Monday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain.<\/p>\n

During the most recent edition of Good Morning Britain<\/a>, ITV<\/a> audiences watched Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh deliver the day’s top stories.<\/p>\n

Ranvir is presently presenting the show after Susanna Reid revealed she would be taking a brief hiatus earlier this month.<\/a><\/p>\n

Following the completion of one segment, they passed over to Marvarine Cole, who had urgent breaking news to report.<\/p>\n

She stated: “Good morning, we start with some breaking news. Norfolk police say they’ve referred themselves to the independent office for police conduct after they shot and killed a man in Thetford after reports of a two-vehicle collision.<\/p>\n

“One man, believed to be the driver of one of the vehicles, left the scene holding what was described as a handgun.<\/p>\n

“They said armed response officers attended, and the suspect was then shot by officers from a short distance away.”<\/p>\n

According to the Norfolk Constabulary page, this incident happened on Sunday (28 December) when officers were called to London Road at around 8.25pm.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Assistant Chief Constable David Buckley said: “We understand this incident will cause concern in the community.<\/p>\n

“Our highly trained armed officers deploy to hundreds of firearms-related calls each year, but incidents where police discharge firearms are thankfully incredibly rare. A full and independent investigation is already underway.<\/p>\n

“We are of course cooperating fully with the IOPC investigation and will be handing over all bodyworn footage and 999 calls to ensure transparency.<\/p>\n

“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”<\/p>\n

This breaking news follows last week’s surprise announcement on ITV, when Charlotte Hawkins revealed that a beloved co-star was departing the show, reports Wales Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n
