Chelsea do not seem to care about gaining any significant commercial revenue with the wait for a front-of-shirt sponsor still ongoing.<\/p>\n

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to\u00a0Football Insider, who has slammed Chelsea<\/a> for its lack of commercial income.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are holding out for a \u00a360million front-of-shirt deal<\/a>, with the London club failing to agree long-term partnerships over the last couple of years.<\/p>\n

A \u00a310m deal has been agreed for Chelsea\u2019s shirt sleeve<\/a>, but the agreement with FPT Corporation only lasts until the end of the season.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Chelsea want \u2018right value\u2019 from shirt sponsor deal<\/p>\n

Everton\u2019s former chief\u00a0Keith Wyness<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs \u2013 finds Chelsea\u2019s situation \u201cvery confusing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking on the new edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness says the situation needs to be resolved.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast:\u00a0\u201cI\u00a0mean, the number of times\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0talked about Chelsea\u2019s sponsorships\u00a0and nothing has come through. And it just seems\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0something deeper to me about how they just\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0seem to care about commercial revenue. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve talked, you know, why that might be the case in terms of trying to preserve evaluation and not accepting lower bids, because I\u2019ve told you before that they want to make sure that when they do sell it, they get the right value, and the value they believe it\u2019s worth. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut\u00a0this has gone on for so long that\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0hard to believe\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0the case.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0almost as\u00a0though they don\u2019t really care about this sort of source of revenue. And I find that hard to believe. But yes,\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0been such a turnover of people on the commercial side at Chelsea as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSo\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0been very confusing. And this is an area\u00a0they\u2019ve\u00a0got to get resolved because it just, you know, feels like they don\u2019t care. I mean, if\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0making all the money out of player trading,\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0one thing. But still, this is\u00a0a good source\u00a0of revenue that should be\u00a0producing\u00a0for them. No front of\u00a0shirt\u00a0still. The sleeve sponsor, well,\u00a0let\u2019s\u00a0wait and see.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chelsea are also facing complications over a new stadium<\/a>, with the club finding it difficult to find a location to build a ground.<\/p>\n

The Blues may have to focus on redeveloping Stamford Bridge, although there are also complexities around that.<\/p>\n
