Of course, you know about the struggles in the second half that, along with two massive Brewers winning streaks, left the Cubs in a wild-card spot.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Still, it\u2019ll be fun to remember these! Also note, I\u2019m limiting this to regular season games.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/boxes\/ATH\/ATH202503310.shtml\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:March 31: Cubs 18, Athletics 3;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">March 31: Cubs 18, Athletics 3<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">This was the A\u2019s home opener and the very first MLB game ever played in West Sacramento.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">And the Cubs weren\u2019t very nice guests. They pounded A\u2019s pitching all over the yard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">They hit four home runs (Michael Busch, Dansby Swanson, Kyle Tucker and Carson Kelly) and Kelly hit for the cycle, becoming the first Cub to do that since Mark Grace in 1993. Jordan Wicks, Porter Hodge and Ethan Roberts allowed eight hits and two walks in the eighth inning and all 10 runners scored, giving Arizona a four-run lead heading to the bottom of the eighth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">But Arizona couldn\u2019t hold their lead, either. Nico Hoerner was hit by a pitch leading off the eighth, then Pete Crow-Armstrong walked.
