The short trailer looks to come from Japan, judging by the subtitles, and it does contain some footage we\u2019ve seen before, but also a few new glimpses. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">The movie is directed by Craig Gillespie, and it features <a href=\"https:\/\/geektyrant.com\/news\/supergirl-star-milly-alcock-talks-about-the-excitement-and-fears-she-faced-when-she-was-cast-as-kara-zor-el\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Milly Alcock<\/a> as Kara Zor El. It adapts Tom King and Bilquis Evely\u2019s acclaimed miniseries Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and in the story, \u201cKara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\u201cWhat was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman\u2019s fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she\u2019s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a vicious mission. Her world has been destroyed, and the bad guys responsible are still out there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\u201cShe wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn\u2019t help her, she\u2019ll do it herself, whatever the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head out into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Alongside Alcock, the film stars Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor El, Emily Beecham as Alura In Ze, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Supergirl lands in theaters and IMAX on June 26, 2026.
