Is Marvel hiring Jordan Peele<\/a> to direct a superhero movie?\n<\/p>\n Rumors have repeatedly circulated that Marvel Studios has courted the Get Out filmmaker in the hopes that he might helm a future project for the studio. Neither Marvel nor Peele has addressed those rumors in any capacity, so there has never been any reason to believe them \u2014 until this week.\n<\/p>\n On Monday, the official X account for Peele’s production company, Monkeypaw Productions, responded<\/a> to a post claiming that Marvel wants the Nope filmmaker to direct a Marvel Cinematic Universe<\/a> movie. The account cryptically added the \ud83d\udc40eyes emoji in its repost, suggesting that there might be something to see regarding this topic in the future.\n<\/p>\n Jordan Peele in Toronto on Sept. 6, 2025.<\/p>\n Olivia Wong\/Getty<\/p>\n The post prompted widespread speculation among fans, who requested that the Us filmmaker tackle Marvel properties like X-Men, Blade, or Midnight Sons in a potential collaboration with the superhero studio.\n<\/p>\n On Tuesday, the same account poked fun<\/a> at those fans who jumped to conclusions after the initial eyes post. “When the internet thinks you’re making a Blade reboot because you said \ud83d\udc40,” the Monkeypaw account wrote alongside a still of Peele in the “Sexy Vampires” sketch<\/a> from season 3 of Key & Peele.\n<\/p>\n Monkeypaw’s Instagram account also acknowledged the situation on Tuesday, sharing a post to the company’s Instagram Stories from Complex titled “Jordan Peele’s company teased upcoming Marvel film.” Monkeypaw added, “Your honor we are not confirming or denying this.”\n<\/p>\n Representatives for Peele, Monkeypaw, and Marvel did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment.\n<\/p>\n Marvel’s next projects will be Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, releasing in back-to-back Decembers in 2026 and 2027. Both films are being directed by the Russo brothers.\n<\/p>\n The studio has yet to announce a slate of films beyond those two Avengers films, though it does still have one previously announced project that has yet to come to fruition: Blade, which was announced in 2019 with Mahershala Ali in the starring role. The film has cycled through multiple directors and screenwriters, and does not currently have a director attached.\n<\/p>\n Peele’s fourth directorial feature was originally scheduled to release in December 2024. The project was removed from Universal’s release calendar<\/a> in late 2023. The film was later rescheduled<\/a> for October 2026, though it was removed from that slot<\/a> in September, and a new date has yet to be announced. I think what people love about this movie so far is that they can’t see it anywhere else, it’s sort of a unique film. So I feel like my responsibility to the world at this point is to keep making original films, try to do some elevated horror, fun horror that says something.
