{"id":380740,"date":"2026-01-01T00:42:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T00:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/380740\/"},"modified":"2026-01-01T00:42:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T00:42:11","slug":"wanted-peoria-man-to-stay-in-jail-after-allegedly-attacking-ex-girlfriend-stealing-gun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/380740\/","title":{"rendered":"Wanted Peoria man to stay in jail after allegedly attacking ex-girlfriend, stealing gun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">PEORIA (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.25newsnow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.25newsnow.com\/\">25News Now<\/a>) &#8211; A Peoria man who was on the run for months for allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend\u2019s place, beating her, and stealing her gun, will stay in jail until his trial, according to the Peoria County State\u2019s Attorney\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A Peoria County Grand Jury indicted Dent for home invasion on July 8 after an incident just before 4 a.m. on July 7 in the 300 block of North Apple Blossom Boulevard in Bellevue. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.25newsnow.com\/2025\/07\/08\/man-indicted-wanted-home-invasion-peoria-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.25newsnow.com\/2025\/07\/08\/man-indicted-wanted-home-invasion-peoria-county\/\">warrant for his arrest<\/a> was issued the same day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the State\u2019s Attorney, the victim, Dent\u2019s ex-girlfriend, told deputies he struck her multiple times, took a firearm from her nightstand, dragged her out of the bedroom, peed into a cup and poured it on her before running away. The victim\u2019s child was in the home while it happened, and video surveillance in the home captured the entire incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Dent was arrested on Tuesday in Livingston County on the outstanding warrant. He will remain in custody pending trial.
