{"id":380808,"date":"2026-01-01T01:37:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T01:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/380808\/"},"modified":"2026-01-01T01:37:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T01:37:10","slug":"clayton-keller-tage-thompson-seth-jones-reportedly-make-usa-hockey-olympic-roster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/380808\/","title":{"rendered":"Clayton Keller, Tage Thompson, Seth Jones Reportedly Make USA Hockey Olympic Roster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Ahead of USA Hockey&#8217;s official roster reveal on Friday, Clayton Keller, Tage Thompson and Seth Jones will reportedly be on the squad for the 2026 Olympics. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Per ESPN&#8217;s <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nhl\/story\/_\/id\/47464257\/keller-thompson-jones-make-us-roster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Emily Kaplan<\/a>, all three players have been named to the U.S. team that will be playing in the Milano Cortina Games. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">That trio will join Jack Eichel,\u00a0Quinn Hughes,\u00a0Auston Matthews,\u00a0Charlie McAvoy, and brothers\u00a0Brady Tkachuk and\u00a0Matthew Tkachuk, who were the first six players\u00a0<a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.olympics.com\/en\/milano-cortina-2026\/news\/auston-matthews-brady-tkachuk-team-usa-roster-nhl-updates-milano-cortina-2026-olympics-news-stats-schedule-predictions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">announced<\/a>\u00a0as part of Team USA&#8217;s preliminary roster back in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox, meanwhile, did not make the roster, per Kaplan. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The full rosters for the U.S. men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s hockey teams, as well as the Paralympic sled team will be\u00a0<a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/teamusa.usahockey.com\/news_article\/show\/1352453\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">unveiled<\/a>\u00a0on Friday&#8217;s episode of\u00a0TODAY\u00a0on NBC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Wednesday marked the deadline for federations to submit their 25-player rosters. Canada\u00a0<a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25344370-canadas-olympic-hockey-team-2026-roster-revealed-who-are-top-snubs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">revealed<\/a>\u00a0its full squad in a press conference on Wednesday, with 19 players returning from the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off championship team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Keller, Thompson and Jones are new to the American roster from the 4 Nations Face-Off that took place in February. Keller and Thompson did participate in the IIHF Men&#8217;s World Championship in May, helping Team USA win gold for the first time since 1933.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">USA Hockey is assembling a roster that it hopes will fare better at the 2026 Games than it did four years. Team USA steamrolled through group play with a 3-0-0 record and plus-11 goal differential, but lost in the quarterfinals to Slovakia in a shootout.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Team USA hasn&#8217;t advanced past the quarterfinals at the Olympics since 2014.
