Meanwhile, Thompson\u2019s goaltending partner Charlie Lindgren has long had Toby Keith\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aIq1LvzSLsk\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cShould\u2019ve Been a Cowboy\u201d<\/a> as his pick.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Should&#8217;ve Been a Cowboy&#8221; playing for Charlie Lindgren at Capital One. It&#8217;s his goal song, but I think he&#8217;s earned it after that spectacular stop. No Capitals goaltender has yet joined that club, though the Caps were on the wrong end of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7AX9r3PjEzI\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ron Hextall playoff goal<\/a> for the Philadelphia Flyers on April 11, 1989.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson has been one of the Capitals\u2019 best players this season, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/moneypuck.com\/goalies.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">league-leading 22.9 goals saved above expected<\/a>, a .915 save percentage, and a 2.33 goals-against average.
