progression at their expense in World Cup qualifying, before a 91st-minute winner from <a data-player-guid=\"46f0a951-70a8-3669-9ffd-de2f561c3040\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/359108\/bazoumana-toure\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bazoumana Tour\u00e9<\/a>, heading home at the backpost, secured top spot for the defending champions.<\/p>\n<p>The result extends their competitive undefeated streak to 14 matches, and they are gathering momentum in this competition as they target a fourth continental crown.<\/p>\n<p>The Ivorians will now meet neighbours Burkina Faso in Marrakesh on Jan. 6, while Gabon exit AFCON as one of only three teams to take zero points from their three group games.<\/p>\n<p>In Agadir, Cameroon found themselves 1-0 down inside 23 minutes when <a data-player-guid=\"d37ea99f-f1fc-13ef-3884-9db85c62bd6d\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/296969\/geny-catamo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Geny Catamo<\/a>, one of the brightest players at the AFCON so far, swung home a curling effort with his left foot from outside the box.<\/p>\n<p>However, David Pagou&#8217;s side restored parity five minutes later when the unfortunate <a data-player-guid=\"fdb7ae2c-3571-86da-d3e9-02de44729f9f\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/258369\/nene\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nen\u00e9<\/a> turned past his own goalkeeper after Frank Magri&#8217;s shot hit the post and bounced in off the Libya-based midfielder. The 19-year-old Kofane secured all three points &#8212; and second spot in the group &#8212; 10 minutes into the second half when he struck a magnificent effort from range which cannoned down off the bar and over the goalline.<\/p>\n<p>Seven points from their three group games represents an excellent return for a Cameroon side who endured a tumultuous tournament preparation when former head coach Marc Brys was dismissed less than three weeks before the competition kickoff, and Pagou&#8217;s squad was announced without several big-name stars.<\/p>\n<p>However, they&#8217;ve navigated a tough-looking group effectively, and will fancy their chances against South Africa &#8212; Group B runners-up &#8212; in Rabat on Jan. 4.<\/p>\n<p>In the day&#8217;s earlier kickoffs, <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"5a9aa911-bb70-d5d4-2c03-166d0fe0dc3c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=624\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Algeria<\/a> rounded off their impressive group campaign in style with a 3-1 victory over <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"882b728f-e445-7bb4-ef46-5aa77de1bfda\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=8938\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Equatorial Guinea<\/a> in Rabat.<\/p>\n<p>Already confirmed as group winners before the match, the Fennecs remain &#8212; along with Nigeria &#8212; the only team in the tournament to preserve a 100-percent record after three goals in the first 32 minutes from <a data-player-guid=\"5b3de938-abb6-be64-7fb5-9aaa2372b64e\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/285547\/zineddine-belaid\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zineddine Bela\u00efd<\/a>, <a data-player-guid=\"1e24f8a3-49ab-33bd-a9a4-b778cd9b68cc\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/337306\/fares-chaibi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Far\u00e8s Cha\u00efbi<\/a> and <a data-player-guid=\"3e03c4c4-e8b6-3403-91f3-21758602d769\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/361212\/ibrahim-maza\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ibrahim Maza<\/a> gave them an insurmountable lead against the already-eliminated Nzalang Nacional.
