This may help explain why chatbots are <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/www.science.org\/doi\/10.1126\/science.aea3922\" target=\"_blank\" dir=\"ltr\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">prone to lying<\/a>: Lacking real-world feedback, they often struggle to discern if information is true or false.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Bengio says that rather than crossing some threshold into a world of sentient machines, as we see in science fiction movies, machine intelligence will continue to develop unevenly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">\u201cWe should not be thinking about, Have we passed the threshold of AGI?\u201d Bengio says.
