{"id":383166,"date":"2026-01-02T07:43:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-02T07:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/383166\/"},"modified":"2026-01-02T07:43:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-02T07:43:14","slug":"ascension-texas-blue-cross-reach-deal-to-stay-in-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/383166\/","title":{"rendered":"Ascension Texas, Blue Cross reach deal to stay in-network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ascension Texas hospitals will remain in-network for people who have Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas health insurance plans.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital system, which includes Dell Children\u2019s Medical Center, had been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.statesman.com\/news\/healthcare\/article\/ascension-texas-network-blue-cross-blue-shield-21233347.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">set to become out-of-network Jan. 1<\/a>.\u00a0Patients would have faced significantly higher costs, including higher deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses, compared with in-network facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The two parties entered intense negotiations in December and reached an agreement on reimbursement rates the insurance company will pay Ascension Texas providers for health services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By securing fair and sustainable reimbursement, we are able to continue supporting our caregivers, strengthening our ministries, and providing high-quality, compassionate care across the communities we serve,&#8221; Ascension Texas CEO Jamie Youssef said.<\/p>\n<p>Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas said the agreement followed months of negotiations and preserves members\u2019 access to Ascension care.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter months of active negotiations, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas has agreed to terms that protect our members\u2019 access to quality care offered by Ascension at cost-effective prices,\u201d it said in a statement Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Hospital systems and insurance companies regularly renegotiate reimbursement rates.
