Redmond man shot dead on New Year\u2019s Eve, police search for suspect<\/p>\n

A Redmond man died Wednesday morning and police are searching for a man who may have killed him.<\/p>\n
According to the Deschutes County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Justin Garrett Jiminez was found dead about 6 a.m. on Dec. 31. He had been shot near\u00a0 homeless camps in East Redmond, around NE Greenwood and NE 17th streets. When police arrived to the scene, they also found a firearm nearby.<\/p>\n
The Deschutes County Sheriff\u2019s Office asks for the public\u2019s help finding a person of interest in connection with the homicide: Don Henry Vandenberg, Jr., 51, who goes by the nickname \u201cTank.\u201d<\/p>\n
Vanderberg Jr. is a white male, 5\u20197\u201d, about 160 pounds, bald, with facial hair, and covered in tattoos. Notable tattoos include \u201cFit for Duty\u201d on his chest, \u201cTank\u201d on his upper abdomen, an ace of spades on upper left arm, a tattoo on the back of his neck and \u201cEK\u201d on his right calf.<\/p>\n
Vandenberg is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach him.
