Now, MLB.com\u2019s analyst Jared Greenspan and Theo DeRosa linked the Red Sox to Eugenio Suarez if the team can\u2019t land either Bregman or Bichette.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoston could still use another impact bat,\u201d the two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/mlb-teams-with-work-to-do-ahead-of-2026-season\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">wrote<\/a> in an article published on Thursday. \u201cAmong the top remaining free-agent hitters, shortstop Bo Bichette and outfielders Kyle Tucker and Cody Bellinger aren\u2019t the most natural fits for the Red Sox. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut re-signing third baseman Alex Bregman would be an obvious move. If Bregman signs elsewhere, slugger Eugenio Suarez could be a fallback option.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Suarez would be an impact bat for Boston and could play third base and hit in the middle of the order. The slugger split last season between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Seattle Mariners, and he hit 49 home runs with 118 RBIs.
