This is what we\u2019ve been saying to each other for the past week or so \u2014\u00a0but nevertheless, they have persisted. Yes, yes, we know, Peak TV has peaked, and yet, there is still so much television coming our way in 2026. And this list of 53 is nearly all scripted series, save for major reality events like the 50th season of \u201cSurvivor\u201d and the Emmy-winning competition \u201cThe Traitors.\u201d Note: This introduction breaks down a tonnage of 2026\u2019s undated highlights by streamer, so if you want to just skip to the list, just <a data-invalid=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/?post_type=pmc_list&amp;p=1236616660\/harlan-cobens-run-away\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">click here<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWhereas in past years, it\u2019s become a trend to play hide-the-ball with release dates during the competitive Emmys window in the spring, this year has been different; there\u2019s already a pretty full schedule into March and April. January is as full as we can remember, with returning hits \u2014\u00a0HBO Max\u2019s Emmy-winning \u201cThe Pitt,\u201d Shonda Rhimes\u2019 Netflix smash \u201cBridgerton\u201d \u2014\u00a0sure to dominate conversation, with franchise offshoots such as HBO\u2019s \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d spinoff \u201cA\u00a0Knight of the Seven Kingdoms\u201d and Paramount+\u2019s \u201cStar Trek: Starfleet Academy.\u201d (Yes, there are also new shows that aren\u2019t based on IP! See below.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAnd then there are the vast undated masses. For HBO and HBO Max, we know the third seasons of \u201cThe Comeback\u201d and \u201cEuphoria\u201d are coming in March and April, respectively, but we don\u2019t know exactly when yet. \u201cHalf Man,\u201d Richard Gadd\u2019s follow-up to his Emmys behemoth \u201cBaby Reindeer\u201d (a co-production with the BBC) will be coming during the Emmys window, surely, as will the final season of \u201cHacks\u201d and the limited series thriller \u201cDTF St. Louis\u201d (starring Jason Bateman, David\u00a0Harbour and Linda Cardellini). HBO will also have \u201cRooster\u201d (starring Steve Carell), a new Larry David show, \u201cLanterns,\u201d \u201cHouse of the Dragon\u201d returning in the summer \u2014 and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Netflix tsunami will continue, with the returns of the anthology satire \u201cBeef\u201d (starring Carey Mulligan and Oscar Isaac this time), \u201cGinny &amp; Georgia,\u201d \u201cThe Gentlemen,\u201d \u201cThe Witcher,\u201d \u201c3 Body Problem,\u201d \u201cThe Hunting Wives,\u201d the final season of \u201cOuter Banks\u201d and much, much more. We\u2019ll also be treated to new versions of \u201cLittle House on the Prairie\u201d and \u201cMan on Fire,\u201d and classic literary adaptations of \u201cEast of Eden\u201d (with Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist) and \u201cPride and Prejudice\u201d (with Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden). Also among the streamer\u2019s 2026 offerings are Dan Levy\u2019s new comedy \u201cBig Mistakes,\u201d the conclusion of the much-loved \u201cHeartstopper\u201d series with \u201cHeartstopper Forever,\u201d the Rachel Weisz-led \u201cVladimir\u201d and the Jed Mercurio-created thriller \u201cTrinity\u201d (with Gugu Mbatha-Raw and \u201cBodyguard\u201d star Richard Madden, working with Mercurio again). The Duffer brothers will venture into post-\u201cStranger Things\u201d content for Netflix with the horror drama \u201cSomething Very Bad Is Going to Happen\u201d and \u201cThe Boroughs\u201d \u2014\u00a0and yes, the animated \u201cStranger Things: Tales From \u201985.\u201d Not detailed here, but get ready for it: 4,000 offerings of Netflix reality series, true crime docs and unscripted competition shows like \u201cClue,\u201d based on the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDeep breath after the Netflix paragraph! Apple has announced a lot of its spring programming, but among its un-dated series are another season of \u201cFor All Mankind,\u201d the Anya Taylor-Joy-led limited series \u201cLucky\u201d and (presumably!) \u201cTed Lasso\u201d Season 4. (And fingers crossed Jessica Chastain\u2019s thriller \u201cThe Savant\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/jessica-chastain-savant-postponed-charlie-kirk-1236527401\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">finally gets on the schedule<\/a>!) Change is afoot at Paramount+ under David Ellison\u2019s new regime, but soon-to-depart mega-producer Taylor Sheridan will have \u201cThe Madison,\u201d \u201cDutton Ranch\u201d and \u201cNola King\u201d all heading our way in 2026. Since Showtime exists in name only now, the final seasons of \u201cYellowjackets\u201d and \u201cThe Chi\u201d are now Paramount originals, and will close out their runs there (as will \u201cStar Trek: Strange New Worlds\u201d). \u201cLioness,\u201d \u201cMobLand,\u201d\u00a0\u201cDexter: Resurrection,\u201d \u201cThe Agency\u201d and \u201cColin From Accounts\u201d will return as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAs for Amazon, its Prime Video service will debut \u201cBait\u201d (starring Riz Ahmed, which premieres at Sundance), the highly anticipated live action series \u201cSpider-Noir\u201d led by Nicolas Cage, \u201cBlade Runner 2099,\u201d the \u201cLegally Blonde\u201d prequel \u201cElle\u201d and \u201cHouse of Spirits\u201d \u2014\u00a0you can file those three under IP adaptations we\u2019re fine with, and yes, we\u2019re hypocrites! <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/every-summer-after-series-amazon-every-year-after-cast-1236463749\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cEvery Year After,\u201d<\/a> based on Carley Fortune\u2019s romance novel \u201cEvery Summer After,\u201d and \u201cOff Campus,\u201d based on Elle Kennedy\u2019s popular book series, are among Prime Video\u2019s other 2026 dramas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t(Almost there, we swear, we\u2019ve just got Peacock, Hulu and FX to go.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFirst up, Peacock! The streaming home of Bravo\u2019s reality hits and NBC shows (and its library) is coming off the success of Sarah Snook thriller \u201cAll Her Fault,\u201d and in 2026, they\u2019ll continue to lean into genre programming. There\u2019s the family drug-running drama \u201cM.I.A.\u201d (from \u201cOzark\u201d co-creator Bill Dubuque), the long-gestating \u201cFriday the 13th\u201d series \u201cCrystal Lake\u201d (with Linda Cardellini), thriller \u201cThe Good Daughter\u201d (Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy play sisters) and a team of all-stars for the Elin Hilderbrand adaptation \u201cThe Five-Star Weekend\u201d: Jennifer Garner, Regina Hall, Chlo\u00eb Sevigny, Gemma Chan and D\u2019Arcy Carden are the core cast. Peacock is also the destination for a little thing we call the Olympics (the opening ceremony in Milan is on Feb. 6).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOver on Hulu, the Disney-owned streamer will be subsumed into Disney+ at some point this year, but it\u2019s still offering plenty of originals, including the eagerly awaited \u201cThe Testaments,\u201d Margaret Atwood\u2019s sequel to \u201cThe Handmaid\u2019s Tale\u201d and Mindy Kaling\u2019s new comedy \u201cNot Suitable for Work.\u201d Sure to be highlights also are \u201cFurious,\u201d Elizabeth Meriwether\u2019s retelling of the 1987 Debra Winger movie \u201cBlack Widow\u201d (not that Black Widow!) starring Emmy Rossum, and \u201cPhony,\u201d a mystery starring Connie Britton and Sam Nivola. Scripted shows \u201cOnly Murders in the Building\u201d and \u201cRivals,\u201d and reality series \u201cThe Secret Lives of Mormon Wives\u201d and \u201cThe Kardashians\u201d are set to return with new seasons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFor FX, Season 18 of \u201cIt\u2019s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,\u201d Season 2 of \u201cAdults\u201d and Season 5 of \u201cThe Bear\u201d will all be on the network this year. And though Ryan Murphy\u2019s \u201cThe Beauty\u201d is dated below, his three (3!) other FX shows are not: anthology \u201cLove Story:\u00a0John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette,\u201d \u201cThe Shards\u201d (with Bret Easton Ellis) and lucky Season 13 of \u201cAmerican Horror Story,\u201d with its <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/american-horror-story-season-13-cast-ariana-grande-jessica-lange-1236566976\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">huge, all-star cast<\/a>.
