The Orlando Magic<\/a> have one of the more exciting young cores in the NBA, but they have two kryptonites that they just can\u2019t beat: they can’t hit from deep, and they\u2019re star-heavy in the frontcourt.<\/p>\n

Fansided\u2019s Christopher Kline<\/a> has a proposal that could solve both problems with one player. He believes the Magic should trade for Atlanta Hawks<\/a> for four-time All-Star Trae Young.<\/p>\n

\u201cYoung is appealing as essentially a fourth star on Orlando\u2019s timeline, available from a division rival for dirt cheap. The Magic\u2019s point guard situation has gone unresolved for years. Jalen Suggs and Anthony Black are both very talented two-way contributors, but neither generates the sort of advantages and easy set-ups that Young does offensively. Moreover, Banchero desperately needs someone to ease his workload and put him in more favorable situations. Young can do the job,\u201d Cassels wrote.<\/p>\n

So far in 10 games this season, Young is averaging 19.3 points, 8.9 assists, 1.5 assists, and one steal in 28 minutes per game. Young, fully healthy, however, has career averages of 25.2 points, 9.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and one steal per game.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s not like he\u2019s injury-prone. He\u2019s never played less than 54 games in his entire career before this season.<\/p>\n

Getting Young, a playmaker and sharpshooter, leading the backcourt with Desmond Bane, and the superstar frontcourt led by Paolo Banchero, they can finally have a complete offense that would take a step to the next level of contention. Hopefully, the Magic do this, and start crafting a package to offer Atlanta.<\/p>\n
