New export business slipped into contraction after expanding the previous month, which the survey attributed mainly to lower tourist numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Business sentiment strengthened, with the expectations sub-index rising to a nine-month high, supported by forecasts of improved market conditions and expansion plans for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The services sector ended 2025 with a &#8216;modest growth, high expectations&#8217; profile,&#8221; said Yao Yu, founder of RatingDog, adding that shrinking employment and volatile external demand remain key constraints.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s economy has struggled to regain momentum amid structural challenges including a prolonged property downturn and deflationary pressures, even as it remains on track to meet a growth target of around 5% this year.<\/p>\n<p>The government has stepped up efforts to curb overcapacity and price wars among firms to help combat persistent deflationary pressures.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Chinese <a data-testid=\"Link\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/asia-pacific\/china-signals-it-will-rely-fiscal-stimulus-manage-economy-2026-2025-12-11\/\" class=\"text-module__text__0GDob text-module__inherit-color__PhuPF text-module__inherit-font__1P1hv text-module__inherit-size__EyiQW link-module__link__INqxZ link-module__underline_default__-okuC\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">leaders<\/a> at a key gathering of the Communist Party promised to maintain a &#8220;proactive&#8221; fiscal policy next year that would stimulate both consumption and investment to maintain high economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>The survey showed companies cut staffing levels for a fifth straight month, shedding both full-time and part-time workers, which contributed to a slight backlog build-up<br \/>\n .<\/p>\n<p>Input costs rose for a 10th consecutive month, driven by higher raw material and labour costs.
