Elliot Page revealed that he and Liv Tyler once wore masks to check out San Diego Comic Con when they visited to promote their 2010 film Super<\/p>\n

Page noted that several fans thought that the V for Vendetta mask that Tyler wore was so cool, they asked to take pictures with her, not knowing who she was<\/p>\n

The actor shared the story during his recent appearance at New York Comic Con<\/p>\n

The Umbrella Academy<\/a> star, 38, revealed that during his first time at San Diego Comic Con in 2010, both he and his Super costar, 48, went undercover to roam around the convention floor \u2014 unbeknownst to fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember having a blast because Liv Tyler [was] there, and [she] and I, together, wore masks to go walk around everywhere, which was so fun,\u201d Page recalled at the 2025 New York Comic Con.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut even in the mask, people were asking to take pictures with [Tyler], having no idea that it was [her],\u201d he said, adding that she wore a V for Vendetta mask.<\/p>\n

Page shared that he\u2019s always been a fan of pop culture staples like Star Wars \u2014 which he said he \u201cbecame completely hooked\u201d on after seeing its theatrical rerelease \u2014 as well as superhero classics like Batman and Spider-Man, so he was a fan himself, just like many of the other Comic Con attendees.<\/p>\n

He eventually got the chance to play a superhero in the X-Men franchise \u2014 taking on the role of mutant Kitty Pryde in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). Page said that it was eye-opening walking on to the set and seeing the \u201cscale of the production\u201d on the movie after previously having done indie films.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was definitely so intimidating to walk into all these extraordinary talents and extremely famous people,\u201d the actor recalled. \u201cAnd walking into this world, that one thing that I immediately took away from my castmates was just how wonderful and welcoming they were.”<\/p>\n

\u201c[They] really just [made] me feel comfortable and included. So that was really nice,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The actor went on to say that the cast and crew also made him feel welcome when he returned in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). Page explained that \u201cbeing back with such a wonderful group of people and to continue to be a part of such an extraordinary world and legacy of characters,\u201d meant \u201cso much\u201d to him.<\/p>\n

The Inception star would go on to play superhero-adjacent characters in the film Super (2010) and in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy, which aired its final season in 2024.<\/p>\n

Page, who came out as transgender in 2020 and has kept his life relatively private, shared at New York Comic Con that he\u2019s often met fans who tell him he\u2019s helped them \u201cthrough difficult times\u201d or played a \u201chuge part\u201d in their own journeys of self-discovery.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose moments are always literally some of the most special interactions you can have with a person,\u201d Page said.<\/p>\n
