Gray Family Health Center announced it will close permanently on March 6.<\/p>\n

According to an announcement posted on its website, the center, which is part of the Central Maine Healthcare network, will continue to offer health care services for the next two months. After that, patients will need to find a new primary health provider.<\/p>\n

Of the Gray center\u2019s three current practitioners, Amy Bergeron and Manju Hilary will relocate to Topsham.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ben Slocum will leave Central Maine Healthcare. According to the statement, the center said it was \u201ccommitted to seamlessly transitioning (Slocum\u2019s patients\u2019) care.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement noted that any testing or lab orders after March 6 would need to be signed by the patient\u2019s new provider, and all results will be delivered directly to their office. Patients will be able to access their medical records after completing an authorization form on Central Maine\u2019s website, or by calling 207-795-2480.<\/p>\n

Jim Cyr, system director at Central Maine\u2019s Corporate Communications Office, said Central Maine Healthcare declined to answer any additional questions related to the closure.<\/p>\n

Gray Family Health Center is one of several rural health care providers in southern and central Maine to have closed its doors in recent months. In August last year, DFD Russell Medical Center in Bridgton<\/a> shut down due to low reimbursement rates, workforce shortages and a lack of federal funding. In October, Central Maine shut down its care center in Manchester, while Northern Light Healthcare closed primary clinics<\/a> in Waterville and Oakland.<\/p>\n
