Unsurprisingly, things look \u201cGolden\u201d for \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiewire.com\/t\/kpop-demon-hunters\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kpop-demon-hunters\" data-tag=\"kpop-demon-hunters\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KPOP Demon Hunters<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Netflix sleeper hit was one of the two films to receive the most nominations at the ceremony, along with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiewire.com\/t\/elio\/\" id=\"auto-tag_elio\" data-tag=\"elio\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elio<\/a>,\u201d the Pixar sci-fi film that underperformed at the box office upon its June premiere. Both films received nominations in the best feature category, alongside categories like character <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiewire.com\/t\/animation\/\" id=\"auto-tag_animation\" data-tag=\"animation\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">animation<\/a>, music, and voice acting; \u201cKPOP Demon Hunters\u201d additionally nabbed a directing nomination. Other films nominated in the Best Feature category are \u201cLittle Am\u00e9lie or the Character of Rain\u201d and \u201cZootopia 2,\u201d both of which received seven nods, and \u201cThe Bad Guys 2,\u201d which received five. Other shows recognized include \u201cCommon Side Effects,\u201d \u201cSmiling Friends,\u201d and \u201cThe Simpsons.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Annie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiewire.com\/t\/awards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_awards\" data-tag=\"awards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Awards<\/a> also announced recipients for several honorary awards. Directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, Micha\u00ebl Dudok de Wit, and Chris Sanders will all receive Windsor McCay Award\u2019s for lifetime contributions to animation. Sandy Rabins, who led AnimAID efforts to help those in the animation industry affected by the 2025 LA wildfires, will receive the June Foray Award for benevolent impact to the animation community. Wacom will receive the Ub Iwerks Award for technical achievement, while LightBox Expo will receive a special achievement award.     <\/p>\n<p>The 53rd Annie Awards, presented by ASIFRA-Hollywood, will be held at UCLA\u2019s Royce Hall on February 21.
