As \u201cSinners\u201d<\/a> continues to rack up the awards as the new year kicks off, we thought there\u2019d be no better time to make you all aware at some of the handful of new projects the beloved cast has coming up next!<\/p>\n

While we enjoy star Michael B. Jordan<\/a> playing double duty as twin brothers Smoke and Stack, he has a plethora of other movies in the works, as does his fellow colleagues like Wunmi Mosaku, Ryan Coogler<\/a>, Delroy Lindo and more.<\/p>\n

So after you rewatch \u201cSinners\u201d for the 50-leventh hundred time (as you rightfully should because it\u2019s one of the best films ever), make sure you mark your calendars for these new works coming soon. Keep reading to find out more!<\/p>\n

Now that Ryan Coogler has officially taken off his \u201cSinners\u201d hat, he\u2019ll be diving into a remake of the \u201cThe X-Files\u201d for his next TV project. The news that he\u2019d be helming the reboot was initially released in 2023, but the acclaimed director confirmed in April 2025 that this project was the next on his docket.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been excited about that for a long time and I\u2019m fired up to get back to it,\u201d Coogler said during an interview with\u00a0\u201cLast Podcast on\u00a0the Left.\u201d <\/a>\u201cSome of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really fucking scary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ryan Coogler- \u201cBlack Panther 3\u201d<\/p>\n

Back on the film front, Coogler will be going for a threepeat for the third installment of the \u201cBlack Panther \u201cfranchise. He confirmed that the movie is next up as far as movies go and he also confirmed that acting legend Denzel Washington would be playing a role in it somehow\u2013though he kept those details to a minimum. If you\u2019ll remember, Washington teased to The Root that he was in talks with Coogler for an upcoming project,<\/a> but he stopped short of revealing that it was \u201cBlack Panther 3. \u201cWe can\u2019t wait for that one!<\/p>\n

Michael B. Jordan- \u201cThe Thomas Crown Affair\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael B. Jordan will be leaving his Southern-Mississippi accent back in Clarksdale for his upcoming heist, thriller movie \u201cThe Thomas Crown Affair.\u201d The new \u201creimagining\u201d of the popular 1968 and later 1999 film is set to see Jordan star as \u201ca billionaire who steals a painting from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is pursued by an insurance investigator only to see them fall in love,\u201d per The Hollywood Reporter.<\/a><\/p>\n

Michael B. Jordan- \u201cSwapped\u201d<\/p>\n

While we won\u2019t necessarily get to see Jordan in this new film, \u201cSwapped\u201d we will hear his voice as he\u2019s taking a detour into the world of animated buddy comedy. The forthcoming Netflix film is set to drop some time in 2026 and follows Jordan as a small woodland creature and a majestic bird (voiced by Juno Temple)\u2014\u201dnatural sworn enemies of The Valley\u2014who suddenly swap bodies and must team up (while walking in each other\u2019s feathers and fur) to survive the wildest adventure of their lives,\u201d per the streamer\u2019s official synopsis.<\/p>\n

Wunmi Mosaku- \u201cThe Social Reckoning\u201d<\/p>\n

While Wunmi Mosaku\u2019s Annie will live in our hearts forever, we do have to let her go so we can see Mosaku shine in other films. The next one will be a role in \u201cThe Social Reckoning,\u201d a \u201ccompanion piece\u201d to\u00a02010, Oscar-winning film \u201cThe Social Network\u201d\u2013which told the story of how Facebook came to be. Aaron Sorkin is set to direct and it\u2019s set to hit theaters on Oct. 9.<\/p>\n

Wunmi Mosaku- \u201cThe Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd\u201d<\/p>\n

While not much is known about Mosaku\u2019s character in the upcoming prison break thriller, \u201cThe Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd,\u201d we do know that her character\u2019s name is Gladys, per IMDB. The official film synopsis is as followed:<\/p>\n

\u201cA teacher in an abusive marriage who takes a job at a maximum security prison, where she falls for a charismatic inmate. The disastrous consequences call into question not only the nature of punishment and retribution, but the very limits of our humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Filming reportedly wrapped in August 2025 and this sounds interesting enough, so consider us seated!<\/p>\n

Miles Caton- Undisclosed Film and New Music<\/p>\n

Miles Caton may still be buzzing about his recent Critics Choice win, but he\u2019s got a whole lot more to look forward to including an undisclosed film, which he let on about to The Contending in November 2025.<\/a> He also let on that he\u2019s got a forthcoming EP releasing so if you couldn\u2019t get enough of his deep, soulful singing\u2013you\u2019re about to get blessed again soon!<\/p>\n

Delroy Lindo- \u201cGodzilla X Kong: Supernova\u201d<\/p>\n

The acting GOAT that is Delroy Lindo will be coming back to our big screens on March 26, 2027 in a completely different movie that still somehow involves some serious villains. If you don\u2019t know, we\u2019re talking about the upcoming \u201cGodzilla X Kong: Supernova\u201d which will see the famed mutated dinosaur go up against the giant ape once more. (For what it\u2019s worth, Mr. Delroy, sir, can we also get you to sign on to sequel to \u201cThis Christmas?\u201d We need to see what the Whitmore family is up to nowadays.)<\/p>\n

Hailee Steinfeld- \u201cWinter Games\u201d<\/p>\n

Along with getting ready to welcome her new bundle of joy soon, Hailee Steinfeld has also been cast in the new film \u201cWinter Games,\u201d starring opposite Miles Teller. Per Deadline,<\/a> the film will tell the story of \u201ca perpetually overlooked skier (Steinfeld) and a self-sabotaging hockey legend (Teller) who collide at their breaking points. Their unexpected connection threatens her chance for a medal and his shot at a comeback as they navigate romance and redemption in the Olympic Village.\u201d The film is expected some time in 2026.<\/p>\n

Hailee Steinfeld- \u201cSpider-Man: Beyond the Spiderverse\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans of Spider-Man will be pleased to know that Steinfeld will be reprising her role as Spider-Gwen in the highly anticipated, animated film, \u201cSpider-Man: Beyond the Spiderverse.\u201d The movie is slated to hit theaters June 4, 2027.<\/p>\n

Jack O\u2019Connell- \u201cGodzilla X Kong: Supernova\u201d<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t call it a \u201cSinners\u201d reunion\u2013well, we guess you might as well. Why? That\u2019s because Jack O\u2019Connell will be acting alongside Lindo in the aforementioned \u201cGodzilla X Kong: Supernova\u201d movie. Much like his former castmate, details of their roles are unknown at this point, but we can bet they\u2019ll both be good regardless.<\/p>\n

Jack O\u2019Connell- \u201c28 Years Later: The Bone Temple\u201d<\/p>\n

Before we get to see O\u2019Connell face off in between a dinosaur and an ape, he\u2019ll return to the 28 Years Later franchise for the followup film, \u201c28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.\u201d The film is expected to drop on Jan. 16 in theaters and will see him reprise his role as cult leader Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal.<\/p>\n
