Leipzig have set a \u20ac100m (\u00a386.5m) price tag.<\/p>\n<p>        The dream signing: Liverpool remain \u201cseriously interested\u201d in Michael Olise, who boasts 24 goal involvements for Bayern this term. However, Bayern are working on a new deal.<\/p>\n<p>        The <a data-ail=\"332764\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/premier-league\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Premier League<\/a> fix: With Antoine Semenyo joining City, Liverpool could turn to <a data-ail=\"332764\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/brighton\/\" title=\"Brighton\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brighton<\/a>\u2019s Yankuba Minteh.<\/p>\n<p>Last summer, Liverpool lost <a data-ail=\"332764\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/luis-diaz\/\" title=\"Luis Diaz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Luis Diaz<\/a>, <a data-ail=\"332764\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/darwin-nunez\/\" title=\"Darwin Nunez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Darwin Nunez<\/a> and <a data-ail=\"332764\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/diogo-jota\/\" title=\"Diogo Jota\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Diogo Jota<\/a>. (Photo by David Rawcliffe\/Propaganda)\" width=\"820\" height=\"547\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-332443\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a data-ail=\"332764\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/cody-gakpo\/\" title=\"Cody Gakpo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cody Gakpo<\/a> continues to frustrate on the left wing, with that position now evidently upgradable.  <\/p>\n<p>That leaves <a data-ail=\"332764\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/hugo-ekitike\/\" title=\"Hugo Ekitike\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Hugo Ekitike<\/a>, a success for sure but still a raw striker who can\u2019t play every minute.<\/p>\n<p>So, who is out there that could be targeted in the January transfer window? <\/p>\n<p>While not everyone on this list is a realistic option for January, they are all versatile attacking players who would improve Liverpool\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The wildcard: Yan Diomande<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Club: RB Leipzig | Age: 19 | Foot: Right<br \/>\n\u2022 Goals: 6 | Assists: 2<br \/>\n\u2022 G\/A per 90: 0.81<br \/>\n\u2022 Scouting Verdict: A prolific direct winger who has exploded in the Bundesliga; currently averaging nearly one goal contribution per game.<\/p>\n<p>A breakout star in the Bundesliga this season, Diomande\u2019s ascent has been rapid. <\/p>\n<p>From playing in the fourth division of the American system just a couple of years ago, he got his move to Europe when Leganes signed him in January. <\/p>\n<p>RB Leipzig had already spotted his talents, though, and they acquired him just six months later after triggering his his \u00a317.3m release clause. <\/p>\n<p>Their gamble has paid off massively, with Diomande scoring seven goals and providing four assists in just 16 appearances so far.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool\u2019s link is currently tenuous, reporter Fabrizio Romano having told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.givemesport.com\/fabrizio-romano-liverpool-tottenham-yan-diomande-transfer-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Give Me Sport<\/a> that the Reds are one of at least four or five clubs to hold a genuine interest.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6942022\/2026\/01\/06\/transfer-latest-man-utd-arsenal-liverpool-real-madrid-antoine-semenyo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Athletic<\/a> report: \u201cLeipzig continue to insist that he\u2019s not for sale in January and that, even in the summer, a club would have to produce a truly exceptional offer to sign him \u2014 likely in the region of that \u20ac100m (\u00a386.5m) fee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The long-term prospect: Malick Fofana<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/2YX180D-600x399.jpg\" alt=\"2YX180D Malick Fofana of Lyon during the UEFA Europa League, League phase, Matchday 6 football match between Olympique Lyonnais and Eintracht Frankfurt on 12 December 2024 at Groupama Stadium in Decines-Charpieu near Lyon, France\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-323357\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Club: Lyon | Age: 20 | Foot: Left<br \/>\n\u2022 Goals: 2 | Assists: 1<br \/>\n\u2022 G\/A per 90: 0.37<br \/>\n\u2022 Scouting Verdict: A high-ceiling dribbler currently recovering from an ankle injury; stats are lower due to limited minutes before his October setback.<\/p>\n<p>Malick Fofana has already <a data-mil=\"332764\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/2025\/12\/lfc-transfer-targets-barcola-rodrygo-semenyo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">confirmed<\/a> that Liverpool showed interest in him over the summer. <\/p>\n<p>However, a move in January is highly unlikely given he suffered a serious ankle injury in October, which will see him sidelined for a few months yet.<\/p>\n<p>The only way this deal gets done mid-season is if Liverpool negotiate a lower price due to his injury, but this is improbable.<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Premier League option: Yankuba Minteh<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/P2025-12-13-Liverpool_Brighton-60-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - Saturday, December 13, 2025: Liverpool's Milos Kerkez challenges Brighton &amp; Hove Albion's Yankuba Minteh (L) during the FA Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Brighton &amp; Hove Albion FC at Anfield.
