The Chicago Cubs<\/a> are finalizing a trade to acquire pitcher Edward Cabrera<\/a> from the Miami Marlins<\/a>, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers.<\/p>\n

It was not clear what Miami would receive in the trade, which was first reported Wednesday by Bleacher Nation.<\/p>\n

Cabrera would improve a Chicago rotation that includes veterans Matthew Boyd<\/a>, Jameson Taillon<\/a> and Shota Imanaga<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The hard-throwing Cabrera is coming off the best season of his career in 2025, when he went 8-7 with a 3.53 ERA with career-highs of 150 strikeouts over 137\u2154 innings.<\/p>\n

Cabrera, who turns 28 in April, also remains under contractual control for three more seasons before being eligible for free agency after the 2028 season.
