Lucasfilm is clearly taking its time rolling out the marketing for The Mandalorian and Grogu<\/a>, but Star Wars fans are hanging on every scrap of new footage they can get. After two different teaser cuts screened exclusively in theaters with Zootopia 2 and Avatar: Fire and Ash, anticipation for a proper public trailer is high.<\/p>\n

At this point, all signs point to a new sneak peek debuting during next month\u2019s Super Bowl, which makes a lot of sense, especially with this marking Lucasfilm\u2019s first Star Wars movie since The Rise of Skywalker hit theaters back in 2019. A big theatrical push has been a long time coming.<\/p>\n

While we wait for that next look, USA Today<\/a> has revealed a fresh still from the film directed by Jon Favreau<\/a>. The image doesn\u2019t spoil anything massive, but it does deliver something fans will instantly connect with. <\/p>\n

Din Djarin and Grogu are together again, standing aboard the new Razor Crest. It\u2019s a simple moment, but seeing the duo reunited on a familiar ship feels right and instantly grounds the movie in what fans love most about this corner of the galaxy.<\/p>\n

For anyone worried the film might feel like a stretched or trimmed down version of a Disney+ season, Favreau has already shut that down. He\u2019s made it clear the jump to theaters allowed them to scale things up in a way the series couldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

“We really leaned into it. As we did tests, we looked at what looked good in IMAX. A lot of stuff in space looked great, and a lot of sets we built taller to really embrace the opportunity.”<\/p>\n

Favreau also addressed how the movie is designed to work for longtime fans and newcomers alike, especially those who may know these characters by reputation but haven\u2019t followed every episode.<\/p>\n

“A lot of people know these characters who haven\u2019t seen the show,” he said of how the shift to theaters will change his storytelling approach. “So it\u2019s not just that there are people who saw the show and people who don\u2019t know the characters – there\u2019s a big range. We want to reward people who\u2019ve been there since the beginning, but also invite new audiences in.”<\/p>\n

Set after the fall of the Empire, The Mandalorian and Grogu finds the galaxy in a fragile place. Imperial warlords are still scattered across the stars while the New Republic struggles to maintain order. To help keep the peace, they turn to legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu, sending the pair on a dangerous new mission that could shape the future of the galaxy.<\/p>\n

The film is directed by Favreau, who also produces alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce. Music duties once again fall to Ludwig G\u00f6ransson, whose score helped define the tone of the Disney+ series.<\/p>\n

Din and Grogu\u2019s next chapter is officially headed to the biggest screens possible.
