Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan<\/a> couldn\u2019t hide his pride as he reflected on the success of Dhurandhar<\/a>, directed by his former student and collaborator Aditya Dhar<\/a>. Priyadarshan mentioned the triumph of the film, starring Ranveer Singh<\/a> and Akshaye Khanna<\/a>, feels like a personal victory to him.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Priyadarshan took to Instagram to write a note praising Aditya while sharing a throwback picture with him. Calling Aditya\u2019s journey rewarding to watch, Priyadarshan noted that there is no greater joy for a mentor than seeing his disciple achieve such remarkable success.<\/p>\n

Sharing an image from one of their shoots, Priyadarshan wrote, \u201cThere is no greater happiness than watching my disciple rise with such remarkable success. Congratulations Aditya Dhar on Dhurandhar, and heartfelt best wishes for Dhurandhar 2.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aditya took to the comment section to respond to his mentor, thanking him for believing in him. They collaborated on Aakrosh and Tezz.<\/p>\n

“My Dearest Priyan Sir\u2026 this means more to me than I can ever put into words!! You believed in me when I was a nobody, and when all I had was conviction and a few written pages. You treated me like an equal, and gave me something far more precious than just work – dignity, trust, and love,\u201d Aditya wrote.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cIn an industry where I often learnt what not to do, you taught me exactly what to do, not just as a filmmaker, but as a human being. From writing dialogues for Aakrosh and Tezz to standing here today, every step carries your imprint. I will forever be your student first. Thank you for everything, Sir. This success is as much yours as it is mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dhurandhar continues its golden run at box office<\/p>\n

Aditya\u2019s spy thriller has shattered several box office records ever since it was released in theatres on December 5. It has emerged as one of the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema. As per the latest report by Sacnilk, Dhurandhar has earned over \u20b9790.25 crore in India so far.<\/p>\n

The film follows covert intelligence operations set against a backdrop of geopolitical and terror events like the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament Attack and the 26\/11 Mumbai attacks. It also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt<\/a>, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Saumya Tandon, Gaurav Gera, and R Madhavan.<\/p>\n

Dhurandhar is presented by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, and produced by Aditya alongside Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar.
