HGTV<\/a>\u2019s Egypt Sherrod is currently on the mend after a freak accident following surgery.<\/p>\n

The TV famous real estate expert and designer took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a health update with fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cHi family! I owe you an update\u2026..sorry for the silence,\u201d Sherrod began her Jan. 6 post via TV Insider<\/a>. \u201cI had to step away from the world for the past five weeks to focus fully on healing after surgery. It\u2019s been a scary road, but I\u2019m still standing and still on the mend.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Sherrod did not disclose the nature of her surgery, she did share the unexpected setback that followed.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow here\u2019s the wild part\u2026 just as I finally got back on my feet last week, a literal piece of marble fell on my foot and shattered two of my toes. TWO. The devil is absolutely a liar.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the broken toes, Sherrod noted she is still able to walk without the need for a cast or boot. Looking ahead to the new year, she remained resilient: \u201cSo yes, I\u2019m getting back on this horse and riding it all the way out. This season is about dreams realized, dead weight released, walls and ceilings shattered, and doors kicked wide open.\u201d<\/p>\n

This health scare follows a tumultuous year for Sherrod\u2019s TV career. In July, she revealed<\/a> the \u201cunexpected news\u201d that \u201cMarried to Real Estate,\u201d which she starred in alongside her husband, builder Mike Jackson, had been canceled after four seasons. The show, which followed the couple as they helped clients find dream homes in the Atlanta area, was one of several series abruptly cut by HGTV over the summer.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the cancellation announcement, \u201cMarried to Real Estate,\u201d was nominated for a 2025 Daytime Emmy Award, though it did not win.<\/p>\n

While Sherrod\u2019s future on HGTV remains uncertain, her ventures off-camera are thriving. In November, she announced<\/a> she had been named Realtor of the Year by \u201cModern Luxury Magazine.\u201d<\/a> Additionally, her furniture and home decor brand, Indigo Road, was honored with a Design 9 Award from the same publication.<\/p>\n
