Christopher Atkins\u00a0is on the mend.<\/p>\n
The \u201cBlue Lagoon\u201d star, 64, took to social media to share that he recently underwent surgery.<\/p>\n
\u201cSurgery went well. Got more metal in me. I\u2019ll need to get to airports even earlier to get through security! Lol,\u201d Atkins captioned his Thursday Instagram post<\/a>. \u201cThanks for all your well wishes! Love you!\u201d<\/p>\n Christopher Atkins shared an update on social media. Instagram\/@christopheratkins1<\/p>\n In the picture, the \u201980s heartthrob had his right arm arm bandaged up in a sling as he smiled at the camera and gave a thumbs up with his recovering hand. <\/p>\n Atkins responded to a follower in the comments, \u201cThousands of baseballs, footballs, and casting for fish! Sports as a kid catching up with me.\u201d<\/p>\n In a follow-up comment, the \u201cDallas\u201d alum explained his past surgeries, adding, \u201cHahahaha yeah I had the shoulder last year, 3 knee, artificial disc and fusion in my back and now a metal elbow. The romance film followed the stars as two young cousins who are shipwrecked on a tropical island in the South Pacific and end up becoming lovers.<\/p>\n In 2023, the pair reunited on Shields\u2019\u00a0\u201cNow What\u201d podcast<\/a> to discuss their time on the project<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u201cNever again will a movie be made like that,\u201d the actress, 60, revealed at the time. \u201cIt wouldn\u2019t be allowed.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnimals were hurt in the movie. We were spearing fish and all kinds of crazy things. Remember the bumpy pads? Atkins didn\u2019t, however, despite being raised in a conservative area.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter that movie it was hard to keep my clothes on,\u201d he quipped.<\/p>\n \u201cThere were scenes where I was butt naked with you, if you remember, sliding down that slide and things like that. And that was a little awkward, but it was kind of funny for me because at this point in time I would just do it. But your reaction was [annoyed sounds].\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t
